Crab legs
If you are preparing to eat crab legs for the first time,
you may not understand exactly how to do so. In order to avoid embarrassing
yourself, follow these rules:
• Use the lemons and butter – Crab legs are often served
with lemon wedges and a cup of melted butter. You may want to squeeze
the lemon juice directly onto the crab meat or you may choose to squeeze
the juice into the melted butter.
• Break it – Most restaurants will supply you with a nut
cracker or knives that you can use to break the shells of the crab legs.
Using a seafood fork can help you with the smaller openings where there
is still some crab meat stuck inside of the legs.
• Have it pre-split – There are some restaurants that will
split the crab legs for you before serving. All you need to do is ask.
This makes it easier to get to the crab meat, but some feel it takes
a little away from the overall experience of eating crab legs.
It is true that crab legs are usually not exactly easy to open. But
as long as you use the utensils you have, it should not be too difficult
or embarrassing either.
